20 pan-European partners, led by the Packaging and Logistics Research and Innovation Center (ITENE), are working to reinvent the plastic packaging treatment process. Coming from from eight European countries, they are using their extensive multidisciplinary and complementary expertise to make recycling more accessible, cost-effective and profitable for both citizens and professionals. ITENE is the Packaging, Transport & Logistics Research Centre providing sustainable business solutions for the supply chain, from raw materials and product development to waste management. The center leads companies to obtain competitive differentiation thanks to the development of tailored made solutions, and provides recognized laboratory testing services.

SINTEF is the 4th largest independent contract multidisciplinary research organization in Europe. SINTEF's main task is the integration of technologies and the validation through implementation at demo sites. SINTEF contribute to the recycling, transport optimization and analyses of life cycle costs.

Axion is an engineering-led company operating in the resource recovery sector, committed to putting science to work to find new ways to minimise waste and recover value from materials at end of first life.

Utrecht is the fourth municipality in the Netherlands, centrally located and with 340.000 inhabitants. It is the fastest growing city in the country, and expects to have 400.000 inhabitants in 2025. The city is characterized by its beautiful historical center, its relatively highly educated population and its attractiveness to company headquarters, university and research institutes.

Alba Iulia is a town of 74,233 inhabitants in Romania. The city was the birthplace of the modern Romanian state in 1918. Las Naves helps processes and initiatives that can provide innovative solutions to the real problems of citizens by strengthening the social structures of the territory, and promotes experimental actions to test new ways of acting through social innovation.

SAV is a service company which develops its activity in the field of the environment: collection of urban waste, public cleaning, wastewater treatment - with the management of more than 200 treatment plants in Spain, maintenance of urban gardens and natural parks and construction of civil works.

Polaris M Holding is a Romanian company operating in 9 municipalities and 2 counties within the country. It provides sanitation services for over 1 million people. These include separate waste pre-collection and collection, transportation and storage of municipal waste, cleaning and maintenance as well as snow removal and ice control on public roads.

INTERVAL is a industry with more of 35 years of experience in the recycling process. The company gives a new life to LDPE Plastics transforming the waste in useful products like garbage bags.

Armacell is the pioneer in the field of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) technology and was the first manufacturer to succeed in qualifying PET foam as core material for the composite industry. The R&D team developed a cutting-edge technology allowing to produce PET foam boards from 100% recycled PET bottles.

Derbigum specializes in energy saving and sustainable materials for the construction sector. The company, which started as a roof waterproofing and flat surface SME, has become a world actor with three production units in Belgium and the US, and 430 employees. Derbigum´s mission is to be the reference provider of sustainable solutions tailored on clients´ needs that also safeguard nature.

Proplast is a technological cluster active in the polymer and composite field and recognized at European level (silver labeled). Proplast offers R&D and training services, with specific competences in materials, processes, CAD design and FEM simulation. Proplast is active in collaborative research projects and CSA actions.

Hahn Plastics is part of the Hahn group and a leader in the manufacture of outdoor recycled plastic products. With over 2,000 products which are 100% manufactured from recycled plastic and fully recyclable after use, Hahn Plastics operates from manufacturing premises in Manchester, UK, producing a wide range of items that offer commercial advantages over concrete, wooden or steel alternatives.

ECOEMBES devises and runs systems for selective collection, recovery of packaging, packaging waste and for its ulterior treatment and upgrading to guarantee the fulfillment of the EU goals on recycling and valorising packaging waste. ECOEMBES has an authorized integrated management system in all autonomous communities of Spain for selective packaging waste collection.

KIM is a reference entity in innovation, knowledge transfer and implementation of scientific technological structures worldwide. KIM's mission is to improve the competitiveness and the technological progress of companies and public institutions.

ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability is the world's leading association of cities and local and regional governments dedicated to sustainable development. ICLEI Europe provides technical consulting, training, events and communication services to build capacity, share knowledge and support local governments in the implementation of sustainable development.

CRF, founded in 1978, has the mission to develop and transfer innovative products, processes and methodologies in order to improve the competitiveness of the products of the Fiat-Chrysler Group vehicles. CRF develops research and innovation along the three principal axes of sustainability: Environmental Sustainability, Social Sustainability and Economically sustainable competitiveness.

PICVISA is an optical sorting solutions manufactures as well as an automation and line designer and a turn-key solutions engineering company. It operates in the recycling industry and also in the ceramic industry for quality control of ceramic tiles. Its main products are a plastic sorter and a glass sorter.

Velenje is the economical, administrative, political, educational, cultural and commercial centre of the Savinja-Šalek region. Its aim is to share good practices on issues important to inhabitants through EU projects, with particular attention to business, education, environmental protection, energy efficiency promotion, culture, tourism and youth.
